| In this view we show the EIDE cable being plugged into the
STL2 Server board. Again note there is only one IDE channel so plan on
SCSI for Storage and other peripherals. We will be attaching the
Intel Slim Line CDROM to this channel. Note that it is best to get the
Intel CDROM even though it is only 24 X as the connector is different than
standard EIDE and the thickness of the CD-ROM is minimal. |
 |
| A slightly different view showing the IDE cable and the
front panel control cable. |
 |
| Two of the arrows are pointing at the speaker connection and
the third is pointing at the starboard fan connector. |
 |
| Here the exacto points at the secondfan connector . It is
pretty obvious the way they are connected. In the box you will also
find two fan extension cables , they have a resistor mounted inline and
are designed to reduce the fan sound to a more reasonable decibel. I
suggest you install these. |
 |
| We have now connected our scsi cable to the STL2 Server
Board. You may notice that just above this on the plastic mold that
holds the fans there is a slider thing. At this time we can only guess as
to its purpose. |
