| The big thing I am showing in this picture is my torque
cordless screwdriver. Generally when installing any mainboard into a
chassis I set it for about half way. This gives a snug to the screws
without overtightening. |
 |
| Now we install the 24 pin Power connector and the auxiliary
power connector. Note the special power requirements preclude the
STL2 from being installed into just any chassis. You must have the right
kind of power connectors. |
 |
| My exacto knife is pointing at the add on speaker (chirper).
Follow the blue wire to the motherboard connector. It only fits on one way
(easily that is). |
 |
| In this picture we have installed the front panel control
cable and just to make it confusing for us, we must make sure we use the
version that comes with the STL2 Server Board and NOT the one that comes
with the SR2100 chassis. The cable does seem to care which end is plugged
into the server board and this is clearly marked on the cable. Also
once we were finished we ran into a related problem with the fault light
blinking moronically at us. Intel has released a technical advisory
about this.

| Here my exacto pointer is showing the other end of the front
panel control cable plugged into the actual front panel electronics.
Note the empty connector above it can be ignored. |
