Now that the Intel D815EEAA has been basically assembled and the Intel Pentium III processor installed, we are ready to return the backplane into the main chassis. (click on the picture for a larger view) re-installing the backplane into the main chassis
Here we see the mainboard installed into the full chassis and we are getting ready to make the final connections.(click on the picture for a larger view) view of the installed Intel D815EEAA in the Elite mid tower ATX case
This picture shows the three types of power connectors that are used in the Elite mid tower ATX case.  The first (starting left) is the main ATX style power connector that feeds both 5 and 12 volts to the Intel D815EEAA mainboard. The second is floppy drive power connector, and the third will be used for hard drives, CD ROMS and other devices. Here is close up of the floppy drive power connector ( and my fingertips). Notice the grooved edges (pointing to the right). These grooves help ensure that the power connector goes on the right way. Floppy drive power connector - Elite mid tower ATX case
Now we install the main ATX power to the Intel D815EEAA. Once it is in properly you should feel or hear a slight click as the locking mechanism engages. (click on the picture for a larger view) connecting the ATX power for the Intel D815EEAA
This picture shows the Front panel header of the Intel D815EEAA and we have put the instruction sticker next to it as a reference. This part may look tricky but it is really simple. Examine the wires (leads) and you will see they are labeled. Now match up the wires with the header pins. Since these are leds or momentary switches, it is a fairly safe operation if you get one wrong. connecting the chassis instrumentation
Here we have installed all the leads into the Front panel header.  Once the system is finished if an led doesn't show up, check to make sure they are snugly in and possibly turn them around so the printed label faces the other way. Note the case Power Led is off to the left of the front panel connector. (It is a three pin connector with one pin in the middle removed). Diagram view of the connected wires on the header
In order to install our hard drives and floppy drive, we disengage the 3.5" drive cage from the main chassis. There is a spring type clip on either side that when pressed releases the drive cage. removing the 3.5" drive cage from the Elite mid tower ATX case
