Calgary: A city of just under 1 million people ( Dec 2003), located in the southern half of Alberta, Canada. It is home to Canada's petroleum industry and also is part of a large agricultural region.  A combination of factors has resulted in a highly skilled and educated workforce.  Should you wish to visit Calgary make it your goal to visit during the Stamped rodeo (usually July).

Web: In the context of design, we are usually referring to the inter-woven fabric that makes up the Internet. It is synonymous with the www (triple w), otherwise known as the World Wide Web.  The complex  network of sites linking to each other is compared to the structure spun by a spider, however the fabric of the net is an inter-connected digital system.

Design: Interestingly enough the word Design has several meanings, most of which imply creating or fashioning in an artistic, skilled manner. In relation to the web, design encompasses graphics as well as a systematic plan to execute the presentation of information.

So typically this phrase would represent a listing of artisans for hire within the local Calgary area that are skilled in the usage of software to produce pages of text and graphics in a planned project the purpose of which is to convey to the viewer information and meaning in a useful and appealing form.
